India on Thursday strongly rejected Pakistan’s remarks on Jammu and Kashmir and the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) at the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), accusing Islamabad of misusing a multilateral platform to spread “falsehoods” and insisting that its continued support for cross-border terrorism would continue to have consequences. The sharp rebuttal came hours after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, addressing the 33rd ARF Ministerial Meeting in Manila, underlined the need for zero tolerance towards terrorism and declared that “acts of terrorism will have consequences”.
